Buses
Every part of a computer must be connected to the CPU in order to allow it to be controlled. The connection between the CPU and other parts of the computer is known as a bus.The bus may be a cable or part of the motherboard itself. There is a reason why USB stands for universal serial bus! The image below shows a bus which is part of the motherboard.
The bus is split into three main parts.
- Address bus - This is used specify where the data to be saved/loaded can be found.
- Data bus - This is used to send the data to be saved or transfer the data to be loaded.
- Control bus - Specifys the operation to be peformed (save or load)
